There are student organizations created to support each other, spar with each other (intellectually, and with foam swords, if you take up boffing) and work together to make your community stronger.
And have fun. Did we mention fun? It’s part of the balance you’ll find in an intellectual community that values active engagement.
When a Rocker is excited about something, chances are they’re eager to share it. With the support of the director of activities and the Community Council, student clubs and organizations offer ways to connect over any number of shared interests. Clubs are student-led and represent current student interests.
The literary magazine, The Glacial Erratic, is ready and waiting for your best submissions.
Of course, if there isn’t a club that represents your favorite activity or cause, it’s just because you haven’t started it yet. There’s a strong International Student Association and Pre-Med Society. The QueerSA, FIFE women’s center, Black Student Union, Asian Student Association and Social Justice Committee all meet regularly.
Like birding? Boffing? Board games? Or, maybe fencing, French films, or Werner Herzog? There’s a club for you. If Art Club, Math Club or D&D Club is up your alley, you’ll be in good company.
