In recognition of the excellence of academic programs in the Bard Early College (BEC) network, and to create a smooth transition from the BEC programs (including Bard High School Early Colleges) to the B.A. program at Bard College at Simon’s Rock, BEC and BHSEC students have preferred admission, which includes curricular counseling and pre-registration for classes. There is no fee to apply to Simon’s Rock.
Applicants who demonstrate significant financial need may also apply for Early College Opportunity (ECO) scholarships. Two full-tuition ECO scholarships are awarded each year.

BEC applicants are welcome to apply through the Common Application, or the Simon’s Rock application.
No matter which application you choose, there is no fee to apply to Simon’s Rock from the Bard Early College Network.
Early applicants will receive notification of admission decisions by mid-December. All BEC applicants will receive notification decisions by March 1. Applicants who apply late can still expect a decision within a month of application submission.
BEC applicants who demonstrate significant financial need and intellectual engagement can apply for Early College Opportunity (ECO) Scholarships, which provide grants covering up to full tuition. Two full-tuition ECO scholarships are awarded each year.
In addition to the ECO Scholarship, Bard High School Early College (Manhattan, Queens, Baltimore, Cleveland) students are eligible for up to two years of need-based financial aid; Early College Center (New Orleans, Harlem Children’s Zone, Hudson) students for up to four years of financial aid. All Bard Early College applicants, including those under consideration for the ECO scholarship, will be considered for all scholarship opportunities offered by the College. Please do not allow the high tuition prevent you from applying.
The FAFSA, College Board PROFILE, and a copy of the most current tax return must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office by January 1.
